Here at Sensory Insights nothing is a taboo and periods espically shouldn’t be for anyone who also exerperience sensory processing differences. Periods is a natural part of a girls life but it can also be extremely challenging in a variety of ways. Mangaing periods can actually invlove A LOT of sensory intregation eg being able to insert a tampon requires us to use our vestibular, tactile , proprioception senses as well as our fine and gross motor coordination!
Thinking about the type of products someone uses can really help to ease the challenge of manging their sensory input, but more importantly conserving demand (think spoon theory) to go and enjoy the rest of their daily activities.
